My New Career at AlphaSense

At the start of every new year, it’s customary to reflect on your accomplishments from the past 12 months, but more importantly, it’s a time when you look at your life with renewed energy, you make bold resolutions for new goals and empower yourself to dream.

  • What will you accomplish this year?
  • How do you plan to take your career to the next level?
  • How will you “rev” your engine?
  • What goals will you set to further invest in yourself?

I asked myself these questions recently, and my answer was to join AlphaSense.

I’ve spent my career advocating ways to help the world’s largest organizations outpace their industry growth rates. I also provided them with access to valuable market insights. Over the past six months, those forward-thinking conversations revolved around a new theme, artificial intelligence, and how it’s transforming research across Fortune 500 firms. I realized AI technology was driving positive change, and I knew I wanted to join the right company to allow me to be a part of this transformational technology advancement.

Enter AlphaSense, a group of 100+ determined employees on a mission to evolve the way knowledge workers search for information. I was intrigued by comments I heard at their offices in New York, “gone are the days of a Control-F search,” and “there hasn’t been a reliable tool to simultaneously search across all important content sources, until now!”

Working at AlphaSense is enlivening! I’m surrounded by a group of visionaries, eager to provide the marketplace with a product that offers immediate benefits and high value. Our team is nimble and quick to respond to clients’ and the market’s needs. Every employee is passionate, collaborative and excited to come to work every day. I appreciate being surrounded by smart, engaged co-workers.

As Steve Jobs famously said, “It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people, so they can tell us what to do.” When your business is growing rapidly, this thought process is more than a motivator, it’s critical for success.

It’s easy to get immersed and start to learn and contribute to an organization, when you’re part of the supportive atmosphere at AlphaSense. Eager teammates provided me with training on the value of AI-powered search. And, they were very receptive to my enterprise selling know-how and had me host a company-wide training session during my third week of employment!

The culture at AlphaSense is infectious: Everyone subscribes to a common belief, “if we help each other, we will all be stronger, smarter and better positioned for success.”

A recent Forbes article, “6 Ways to Create a Supportive Work Environment,” by David K. Williams, shared this lesson: “A supportive work environment recognizes an employee’s desire for work / life balance, honors promises of flexibility and reinforces the trust relationship between manager and employee.” The AlphaSense family clearly embodies this lesson. A supportive culture + industrious talent creates a unique recipe for success. Employees are empowered to be leaders and embrace constant change. While AlphaSense is rapidly scaling, overcoming any obstacles and continuing to establish its brand, every employee is focused on continuous improvement, a core priority for all of us, whether we’re creating New Year’s resolutions or starting a new career path.

I’m grateful to be a part of AlphaSense, and I feel inspired by our product, our team and what we’re creating together. I look forward to the many exciting learning and development opportunities that lie ahead.
