Companies and knowledge workers rely on AlphaSense to deliver them relevant information from thousands of sources in real time. Often this takes the form of updates surfaced from company filings, press releases, or news sources, which allow knowledge workers to make decisions based on more accurate and comprehensive information than ever before. But the power of the AlphaSense platform extends far beyond what you might imagine at first glance.
This month, one AlphaSense team member took this idea to the extreme. In pursuit of becoming champion of his fantasy football league, Jason Saibel set up AlphaSense alerts for any relevant news updates on his players, as well as opponents’ players. In doing so, he effectively created an industry-level landscape by which he could make edits to his lineup much more quickly and accurately than his opponents, giving him a much needed edge.
How? By setting up RSS feeds within the platform from sources such as CBSSports and RotoWire, Jason was able to constantly view and analyze every factor which might affect his team’s performance. Relying on our AI to sort the signal from the noise, he was able to be fully confident he had captured all the information he was looking for. For instance, whether Adam Schefter said a player is “injured” or a player “got hurt,” AlphaSense captured it -- but the alerts excluded any mentions of a team’s playoff chances being “hurt” by a bad week.
With all this information at his fingertips, we’re happy to report that Jason was able to take home the Lombardi trophy.
As Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll once said, “If you want to win, do the ordinary things better than anyone else does them day in and day out.” We believe this rings true, and we do everything we can to provide our clients with the knowledge and power to make every decision, big and small, with confidence.
Whether you’re running a fantasy football team or a Fortune 500 team, check out how AlphaSense can provide you an edge over the competition.
